The fifth edition of the Reiffers Initiatives Mentorship opened on October 24 during Art Basel, featuring a unique exhibition by Daniel Buren and Miles Greenberg that will run until December 13. This edition of the mentorship program marks an unprecedented juxtaposition between a major figure of French contemporary art, Daniel Buren, and the 28-year-old Canadian performer and artist Miles Greenberg. On this occasion, Daniel Buren, mentor of the 2025 edition, created a permanent in situ work titled ‘La Façade aux Acacias’, which entirely adorns the building housing the Reiffers Initiatives endowment fund at 30 rue des Acacias, Paris 17. The artist also unveiled a second in situ work, ‘Nouvelles images du Ciel’, on the space’s glass roof. Miles Greenberg presents new monumental aluminum cast sculptures as well as a unique performance interpreted by singer Yseult in his exhibition ‘Gods of Solaris’, co-presented with L’Alliance New York.

Daniel Buren

An iconic figure of contemporary art in France, celebrated worldwide, Daniel Buren sums up his biography in a single sentence: ‘lives and works in situ.’

For several decades, Daniel Buren has worked in specific sites, creating his works with careful consideration of the space, architecture, and exhibition context—both the physical setting and its relationship to the outside. For the 2025 edition of the Reiffers Art Initiatives Mentorship program, the French artist chose to support the 28-year-old Canadian, Miles Greenberg. The result of their collaboration is an exhibition that opened during Art Basel Paris on October 24, 2025, and will run until December 13, 2025.

Miles Greenberg

Miles Greenberg was born in 1997 in Montreal, Canada. He is a performance artist and sculptor. His work consists of large-scale, sensorily immersive, in situ environments that focus on the physical body in space.

These installations are activated through performances, often of extreme duration, that use the body as a sculptural material, aiming to reveal the poetics of the human form, particularly through the lens of the African diaspora. His performances are captured in real time before the audience, giving rise to subsequent video works and sculptures. Rigorous and ritualistic in his methodology, Greenberg’s universe relies on slowness and the decomposition of form to awaken the audience’s sensibilities. The result resembles a ritual space that invites both performer and audience to explore, interpret, and honor the emotions—often beyond language—that reside and resonate within the body.
