Paul Olivennes is an artistic director, curator, publisher and founder of MAGMA

Paul Olivennes is a an artistic director, curator, and publisher based in Paris. He is the founder of MAGMA, an art platform and publishing house that develops an annual journal, art editions, as well as exhibitions, performances, and institutional projects.

Since its creation, MAGMA has collaborated with over one hundred internationally renowned artists, published previously unseen artists’ archives, and supported a new generation of contemporary artists and writers.

MAGMA’s projects have led to exhibitions—including Archive of the Future (Paris, 2025) and Dirty Windows (2025) by Merry Alpern, presented in London with TRAMPS gallery—as well as performances with Michelangelo Pistoletto at the Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection (2024), and with Patti Smith and Soundwalk Collective at Palazzo San Fedele in Milan (2025). MAGMA has also developed projects with the Centre Pompidou on the occasion of the exhibition Surrealism.

Alongside MAGMA, Paul Olivennes conceives and produces exhibitions, publications, and artistic direction projects in collaboration with artists, institutions, galleries, and brands.
