Caroline Bourgeois

Biography

Caroline Bourgeois is artistic advisor to François Pinault and curator at the Bourse du Commerce, for which she had already assembled an international video collection between 1998 and 2001.

From 2004 to 2008, Caroline was the artistic director of the Frac Ile-de-France – Le Plateau in Paris, where she curated major exhibitions, both collective and individual (« Ralentir vite », « Société Anonyme »).

She has also organised major artistic collaborations in the public space with Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster in Paris and with Pierre Huyghe in Venice. These dialogues between artists and the Collection continue at Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana, through monographic exhibitions, notably of Urs Fischer, Martial Raysse, Albert Oehlen and Luc Tuymans, and co-conceived exhibitions, notably with Dahn Vo, Muna El Fituri and Thomas Houseago.

Major group exhibitions have also been held, including “Passage du temps” in Lille, (2008)” Who is afraid of artists?” in Dinard, (2009) “A triple tour” at the Conciergerie in Paris, (2013) “Debout!” in Rennes (2018).
