
Biography
Diana Campbell Betancourt began her career in Asia, specifically in India, Bangladesh and the Philippines. Since 2013, she has been the Artistic Director of the Samdani Art Foundation, based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Chief Curator of the Dhaka Art Summit, of which she has directed the critically acclaimed 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020 editions. She makes the event a leading research and exhibition platform for South Asian art, bringing together artists, architects, curators and writers from across South Asian art, bringing together artists, architects, curators and writers from across South Asia to facilitate inter-Asian dialogue. She chairs the board of the Mumbai Art Room and has been a research fellow at the Henry Moore Institute, the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, and FRAC Champagne-Ardenne. From 2016-2018, Diana Campbell Betancourt was the founding artistic director of Bellas Artes Projects, a non-profit organization supporting the creative output of local and international artists, providing a platform for experimentation and interdisciplinary collaboration through residency, exhibition, and education programs. She continued her work in cultural dialogue and experimentation as a curator for the contemporary art fair Frieze London in 2018 and 2019.
